It is my pleasure to welcome you to the North East of England for the first Errea International Futsal Cup on behalf of the organisers, Sala Sports Limited and Middlesbrough Futsal Club and our main sponsor Errea. We are very proud to be hosting this tournament here and hope you all have a great experience.

The Errea International Futsal Cup is the successor to the Tees Valley Futsal Cup, traditionally played around the Easter holiday and played by teams from all over the UK. With the growth of futsal in England, it was decided that a higher quality competition with fewer teams was more suitable for a tournament in England, and the timing of the event coincides with our friends’ from Uruguay’s visit to Europe. They will be the first Uruguayan team to play in England, and with futsal originating there in 1930, we believe that they will bring a new futsal experience to England.

I’d also like to point out that until very recently, two teams from Africa were due to play, but difficulties in their visa applications meant they are unable to come this time. It would have been a truly worldwide event, but nevertheless, we have four quality teams and the tournament promises to be competitive, fun and most of all a place to make new friends.

This event, is being run by Sala Sports Limited, specialists in sports management and promotion, including events, tournaments, leagues and coming soon the Middlesbrough Futsal Club junior academy will add to Sala Sports’ already impressive portfolio.
